One of the blogs I’ve been subscribing to talks today about #speedcleaning on Twitter. The premise is simple. You tweet what you are going to clean, set your timer and clean. When the timer is done (or when you are done cleaning) you come back and post what you did. Today I gave #speedcleaning a whirl. I set my oven timer for 10 minutes and got to work on the kitchen. I had all the dishes put away and the dirty ones loaded into the dishwasher. I was just about ready to scrub the sink when the timer went off. I didn’t stop. It took me an additional 5 minutes to finish the sink and wipe down the counters and the stove. Not bad for 15 minutes of work. Then I when back to my computer tweet what I did. It was a good feeling to have a clean kitchen for the rest of the day.
Will I try #speedcleaning again, yes. This time I know better and will set the timer for 15 minutes.
